Circular Antenna Array with Full Radiation Coverage for THz Communications

Abstract

This paper investigates the features of a new THz array that exhibits high-gain and steerable radiation capabilities, catering to the needs of 6G networks. Its schematic incorporates eight dipole elements arranged in a circular configuration. To enhance the radiation properties of the resonators, directors are positioned alongside each dipole resonator. The dipole resonators are compact in size and employ microstrip-line feeds. The antenna elements operate efficiently within the frequency range of 1.85 2.15 THz, offering polarization diversity and full radiation coverage for comprehensive connectivity. Through extensive simulations, the performance and potential of the antenna are thoroughly evaluated, yielding promising results for future 6G.
