Before the First Train: Reproducibility archive

2026Open accessUniversity of Abuja

Abstract

This repository provides the reproducibility materials accompanying the study “Before the First Train: Pre-Opening Station–City Readiness and Urban Development around High-Speed Rail Stations — Cross-Country Evidence”. The archive contains the scientific analysis notebooks, frozen analytical evidence, machine-readable result tables, exact figure inputs, reproducible figure-generation code, provenance information, environment specifications, validation utilities, and integrity checks required to audit and reproduce the reported analysis. The workflow reconstructs pre-opening station–city readiness across a 28-station cross-country high-speed rail sample. Twenty-seven stations were spatially processable, the primary matched analysis contains 11 treated stations, and 17 historically verified treated–control pairs are preserved in the archived evidence. The archive also contains pre-trend diagnostics, matched event-study outputs, robustness analyses, partial-identification results, readiness-association analyses, and the frozen evidence supporting the study's conclusions.
