Abstract

Recent years have been marked by a steady increase in the number of roads and demographic trends. Faced with this reality, many countries and national and international organizations have taken part in an international effort aimed at achieving several key objectives: providing accurate information on the scale of disasters, facilitating the intervention of rescue teams in the event of a major catastrophe, and coordinating international aid to help disasterstricken regions.
