The design, development and validation of a new 5-shaped patch antenna at 3.5 GHz designed to be used in mid-band 5G was done in this paper. We first designed the antenna with the Wave Concept Iterative Process (WCIP) MATLAB implementation. The project was later validated with CST Microwave Studio simulation. We discuss the theory of WCIP and numerical results. The good agreement between the two methods indicates that WCIP is very good for planar structure analysis with a reflection coefficient of -25 dB at 3.5 GHz and much faster computation.
