This paper designs an optimal control scheme to manage the energy flow of home-tied electric vehicle (EV). EV is a modern transportation car that challenges the current energy crisis and pollution issues. Besides, the system implementation of the current vehicle requires efficient equipment to handle the functional features and meet the transportation demand. Electric motor drivers and energy storage systems (ESS) are the essential equipment to be coordinated for the efficient operation of EVs. Furthermore, the power electronic devices assist in fashioning and converting the current waveform and improving electric cars’ practical function. Moreover, the new EV can be connected to a given electrical network to support the power grid stability. Therefore, this research designs a platform for developing and implementing EV to home (V2H) and its applications in the smart grid environment. It has been found that the charging/discharging process of the novel generation of vehicles based on power flow is the principal framework to establish for EV platforms in the innovative grid environment. This can create an optimal control of the V2H platform that adapts to the various dynamic behaviour of the system. Therefore, this research work will serve as a platform to assess different impacts of V2H implementation in the intelligent power grid and their perspective for the future regarding system designs and methodologies.
