An Algorithm for the Visualization of Shock Waves in Supersonic Flow

Abstract

The aim of this study is to develop a model-free reinforcement algorithm (MFRA) to enhance the analysis of flow in a supersonic wind tunnel. This involved the use of MATLAB to process image and determine shock properties at all stages. Shock wave occurs when a thin zone of rapidly varying pressure, density, and temperature forms in a compressible fluid flow. Schlieren method was use for the visualization of the shock wave on the supersonic wind tunnel. The result show that there are 3.1% for average deviation from known experiment.
