In the rapidly evolving landscape of higher education, traditional pedagogical methods often fall short in meeting the diverse needs and learning styles of students. This paper advocates for a paradigm shift through the integration of Adaptive Learning Systems (ALS) empowered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) to revolutionize higher education curricula. Recognizing the limitations of conventional, one-size-fits-all approaches, our proposed ALS harnesses the capabilities of AI to dynamically tailor educational content. By leveraging machine learning algorithms, the system adapts to individual student profiles, optimizing the learning process for each learner. Our comprehensive literature survey reveals the current state of AI in education, emphasizing the urgency for personalized, adaptive approaches. The proposed work outlines a conceptual framework, detailing the integration of AI algorithms, data sources, and system architecture. Methodologically, we discuss the technical aspects of data collection, preprocessing, and algorithm selection. The Implementation Model elucidates the practical deployment of the ALS, encompassing technological tools, infrastructure requirements, and potential challenges. Results from experimentation demonstrate tangible improvements in learning outcomes and engagement. In conclusion, this paper advocates for the widespread adoption of AI-driven adaptive learning, offering a transformative path for higher education, fostering a dynamic, personalized, and effective learning environment for students of diverse backgrounds and aptitudes.
