A secure based trust model for Optimized Link State Routing protocol (OLSR)

Abstract

This paper proposes a trust-based security solution to improve MPR selection in OLSR. Trust is calculated based on the degree of willingness of nodes to become MPR, as well as their reputation calculated based on an aggregation of recommendations received from other nodes. The proposed extension of OLSR allows nodes with a high level of trust to be selected as MPR. We evaluated our simulation approach against the increase in the number of selfish nodes, the obtained results demonstrate a significant improvement in delay, packet routing percentage, loss rate and throughput.
