A Miniaturized Reconfigurable Multi-Band Antenna with ACS Feed for Wireless Communication

Abstract

A miniaturized multiband frequency-reconfigurable antenna with asymmetric coplanar strip (ACS) feeding, featuring two PIN diodes is presented. This study is motivated by the aim to develop a compact antenna that solves the issue of switching band antennas with the fewest possible electronic components. The suggested configuration has effectively enabled reconfigurability across nine bands (5.92-10.8 GHz), (3.3 - 4.1 GHz), (5.2 - 8.7 GHz), (2.1– 2.6 GHz), (5.09–5.51 GHz), (6.2–10.9 GHz), (2.1 - 2.42 GHz), (3.8 - 4.23 GHz), and (5.2–10.2 GHz). This structure aligns well with the applications WLAN, WiMAX, ISM, C-band, X-band The constructed antenna is a great option for usage in a variety of multimode wireless systems because of its small size of 14 × 26 mm<sup xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</sup> and improved performance.
