Peggy Mapondera

I am an investment professional with over 15 years of experience across private equity, investment banking and corporate finance in Southern and East Africa. As Investment Principal at Masawara Plc, I have led and managed US$400 million worth of transactions across financial services, hospitality and industrial sectors, working closely with founders and boards to structure capital for growth. I also sit on the board of directors of an agriculture and mining-focused private equity fund and a Zimbabwe-focused asset management firm. Beyond the numbers, I am passionate about early- and growth-stage business and enterprise development, and in particular, women's economic advancement and capacity-building in that space. I am actively engaged in strengthening investment readiness among early- and growth-stage businesses across the region. My work sits at the intersection of capital allocation, governance and long-term value creation. I hold a Post-Graduate Diploma as well as a Bachelor's degree in International Business, Finance and Economics from The University of Manchester. I am currently completing an Executive MBA with a specialisation in Agribusiness with the Africa Leadership University School of Business.
