About
With over 15 years of experience in building science, technology, and innovation (STI) ecosystems across Africa, I specialise in translating research into impact through policy development, R&D management, innovation commercialisation, and academia–industry collaboration.
I previously served as the Director for ST & I at Ghana’s Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and innovation where I led nationally significant initiatives, including the establishment of Technology Transfer Offices across five R&D institutions, and contributed to the creation of key national infrastructure such as the Ghana Space Science and Technology Institute and the Ghana Radio Astronomy Observatory. I also led the development of Ghana’s first Science, Technology and Innovation Policy and its Implementation Plan, and spearheaded the launch of the Science, Technology and Innovation Fund in 2013—laying the foundation for Ghana’s participation in the Science Granting Councils Initiative in Africa and the eventual establishment of the Ghana National Research Fund in 2020.
At the African Institute of Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) Ghana, I led operations and resource mobilisation, securing funding for flagship programmes such as the Masters in Mathematical Sciences for Teachers and the Girls in Mathematical Sciences initiative. I also developed and launched the AIMS Hybrid Internship Hub, strengthening industry engagement, and led strategic partnerships including a Masters Sponsorship Research Agreement with Google Research Africa.
